This pair of antique convertible candelabras were made by the well known Mappin & Webb of England in approximately 1920 in a Classical Greek Revival style. These candelabras are composed of silver plate and are ornately cast with an Ancient Greek Corinthian column style and a three cup insert. The cups of the candelabra have a four prong shape which fits into a similar inset form on the base of the cup for a secure fit, as do the three branch inserts into the single cup bases. The Corinthian column bases can be used as single candlesticks or as three cup candelabras and are clearly signed on their bases with the maker’s mark for Mappin & Webb.
