If you are looking for a rare, beautifully made, great condition and superb running mantel or table clock to grace your living space then this one of a kind antique specimen could be perfect for you. With the American Ansonia clock mechanism probably being older than the stunning ‘clock house’ we believe they were not ‘born together’. With the typical Dutch coromandel being incorporated (in the most beautiful manner) in this clock, we believe a Dutch artisan created this Classical architecural design clock and he used an older clock mechanism to complete it. The entire design (including that of the corner pieces) is an absolute joy to look at and the combination of the lighter colored nutwood and the darker veined coromandel is truly marvelous. The enameled and gilt bronze dial face with the perfect, beveled glass door in front makes this one of a kind antique even more attractive. Somehow the striking mechanism seems to have never been used/incorporated, because there is no bell or gong to be found inside the ‘clock house’. The black hands and stylish black numerals against the white/beige and golden colored background, make it easy to read the time from a distance also. This rarest of clocks runs perfectly and comes with the key for winding the 8-day mechanism. Apart from one small chip of wood missing from the turned wooden decoration on top of each of the ‘corner pieces’ and a slight bend in the wooden top decoration on top of the clock itself, this unique clock set is in excellent condition.
Again great value for money. Also, because our fair price for this great craftsmanship antique set includes perfect packing and also free worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days.
Maximum width x height x depth of the clock: 15.75 x 14.5 x 6.1 inches.
Maximum height x width x depth of the 2 ‘corner pieces’: 10.2 x 5.5 x 5.1 inches.
We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).
