* The lion of the Medici, according to the version executed by Flaminio Vacca around 1594 for the entrance to the Villa Medici in Rome, and moved in 1789 to the loggia dei Lanzi in Florence. The lion holds under his paw a gilt bronze sphere, in reference to the six balls constituting the arms of the House of Medici.
