This table is a rare reproduction attributed to the Chiurazzi foundry in Naples Italy of an artifact discovered in the excavations of Pompeii. The original is in the Naples National Archeological Museum. The bronze table is supported by a herm of Jupiter Zeus above a standing figure of the winged Goddess Nike who holds an assembly of trophy armor and armaments, a symbol of victory. She stands on an ornamented plinth supported by lion’s paw feet. The 14″ round carrara marble top is new and unattached to the table but is included with this item. The bronze cross bar at the top of the table alternatively could support a piece of glass or marble of equal or larger width.
