Brutalist travertine ashtray

Charming set of 8 1950’s matchbooks hand decorated with funny lady faces complete with red lipstick and felt hats. A closer look reveals the clever use of buttons to create the faces. New and unused in the original box…made by Famous Candles & Stationery of Newark, New Jersey. They were probably intended for ladies luncheons or bridge parties but would always be great as a hostess gift.

Very good previously owned though unused condition. The original box shows a little age but the matches look great.

The matches in the original box measure 4″ diameter x .75″ tall. Each matchbook measures 1.75″ tall x .75″ wide x .38″ deep.

Here is a wonderful, standing ashtray from the early 20th century. The piece is made from metal and chrome. The main parts of the base have a faux bois treatment – the metal looks like it is a walnut grained wood! The top and ring at the base are chrome. As you can see, the top lifts off for easy cleaning. There are two cigarette/cigar spots and a cute button that opens the ash catcher! Very chic! A total conversation starter!

Faux shagreen porcelain vide poche/catch-all. Nice large size and weight and neutral color. A warm taupe.

This lovely Pair of Ashtrays / Trinket Dishes is made of ceramic. This pieces is stamped as being made by Wedgwood of Etruria and Barlaston in England, see pictures, and it is one of Wedgwood’s embossed Queensware pieces. This pair of ashtrays is made in a gorgeous light blue color with an embossed white design of grapevines around the rim; they have 3 cigarette rests and is made in a wonderful round shaped silhouette.

The measurements: height=0.75″ width=5.5″ depth=5.5″ approx.

Here is a wonderful floor ashtray made by Wear-Ever in the 1960’s. The piece is made from aluminum and has a copper finish on the center body with chrome finish at the top, bottom and center. The shape is really great! It is a double cone – very mid-century, art deco. The top of the ashtray is an aluminum bowl that can be lifted up. You can see the inside in the 9th photo.

This pair is a stunning example mid century modern aesthetics. The set includes two very large and very heavy ashtrays (or catchall dishes) made by Blenko. They were designed in the iconic and highly collectible Amberina color way which boasts saturated sunset hues of red, orange, and yellow in an ambre affect. The glass is textured and the undersides have a high relief swirling motif. ….A show stopping piece – perfect for a cigar smoker, a catch all, or a serving dish.

Unused Maitland Smith “Fiber Shoe” vase/catchall composed of leatherette wrapped stained mahogany with braided nylon laces and brass eyelets (ca. late 1980s/early 1990s, Philippines).
Removable brass divider retains the manufacturer’s tags detailing the model number and product name. “Maitland Smith” label also present to the underside.
Excellent, unused condition.
