19th Century Country French Neoclassical Bookcase in Stripped Oak features architectural lines inspired by the ancient masters with a touch of decorative ornamentation surrounding the glass above and door panels below that hints at the beginnings of the Art Nouveau style. The straightforward approach results in a stately look that is still casual in appearance, with a finely molded crown, stepped-out lower section, trim that defines the tiers and cylindrical feet. Turned wood knobs on the drawers add a nice touch. Plenty of storage abounds in the lower section, with hand-rolled glass for the upper tier that opens to reveal three surfaces and two shelves, with the tongue & groove pine planks that form the back adding a bit more visual interest. The quarter-sawn oak facade has been painstakingly stripped by our expert in-house staff using our proprietary method that retains the natural beauty and patina of the wood for lasting enjoyment!
