19th Century country French painted confiturier ~ cabinet is a charming ode to the rural life in France, but with typical French flair! The beveled top is only 18 inches deep, making it very traffic friendly. A full width drawer with just a modicum of bordering appears at the top, accessed with a steel bale pull. Steel hinges mount the finely detailed door below, fitted with an arched chamfered panel and carved with just a touch of foliate flourishes. A steel key guard stands sentinel over the keyhole, and the door opens wide to reveal surprising storage with a shelf inside. The apron is traditionally scrolled and carved with a single flower flanked by foliate sprays, which in turn are flanked by the scrolled legs. A multi-coated painted finish completes the look, having achieved a lovely patina over the decades!
