This piece was an element of a vase or possibly handle to something larger.
It has the head of a wolf or lion mounted on a curved handle supported by a section of braided ring.
With a thick heavy patination that is straight to the bronze in some places.
From the private collection of Lawrence Majewski, who was a former conservator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Simply a wonderful piece for the Wunderkammer or Curio Cabinet!
