A provincial wooden trunk from 1800s Germany. The charming case is decorated with carved spiral patterns intertwined in a floral embrace. The chest is elevated, its feet complemented with an original scalloped apron that subtly contrasts with the otherwise upright lines. A triangular iron lock divides the front panels, completed with a clover key. Beautifully distressed, the original patina exhibits fissures and a seasoned grain. This object of reflection suggests wisdom of the ages.
