Armchair, design Aldo MORBELLI. ORIGIN Italy PERIOD 1940s DESIGNER Aldo MORBELLI. Italian architect (Orsara 1903 – Turin 1963). He carried out his activity mainly in Turin: he developed, with R. Morozzo della Rocca, the winning project for the reconstruction of the Teatro Regio (1938; carried out, after his death, with a new project by C. Mollino); Rai auditorium (1949, the room in collaboration with C. Mollino); the RAI office building (in collaboration with D. Morelli). Sensitive to the rationalist currents of the period between the two wars, he attempted to merge them with elements of the Italian tradition, especially the Mediterranean one.
