Early 19th century rustic Country French buffet a Deux Corps was designed for storage in style! Hand-crafted from locally obtained old-growth oak, it features pegged mortise & tenon joinery crafted in the traditions handed down for centuries in France. A tailored crown indicative of the early Louis Philippe period rests over the top tier, which is slightly recessed back but still capacious inside. The center stiles above and below are attached to the left doors, so that each compartment opens wide thanks to the externally mounted steel barrel hinges, allowing easy access and making it perfect for a big flat panel TV. Scrolled framework of the doors is mirrored by the raised panels, and accented with unusual steel key guards above and below, all original to the piece. A single shelf and surface inside are great for accommodating voluminous possessions. The scrolled apron below framed by scrolled legs provides stylish support. Note the hand-hewn planks on the back side in the last photo,
