A French secrétaire à abattant, or drop front secretary desk, with the case made of birdseye maple veneer over solid oak and the faux bamboo details made of turned cherry wood. Four dovetailed drawers with working locks and two keys. Interior has three small drawers with wood knobs and writing surface covered in worn red velvet. The name of the cabinetmaker is stamped on the back: Andrau & Blanc, Toulouse. In good condition with minor veneer loss. Circa 1950s.
