A handmade American hooked rug from the mid-20th century depicting a head of a Native American on a brown field. Condition is really nice. No stains, no tears, has been professionally cleaned.
The border has some interesting triangle shaped motifs in red and emerald green giving it a tribal effect. There is some inscription found in field which could be initials of person who made it? The number 56 is inscribed too which looks like it was made in the year 1956.
