A vintage Thai Country style woven rattan Khantok pedestal fruit tray from the mid 20th century with circular shape and pierced ring motifs. Created in Northern Thailand by the Lanna people, this pedestal tray features a circular tray top sitting above a pierced base adorned with ring motifs. Khantoks were originally used in welcoming ceremonies to show respect to the guests, but were eventually incorporated in other ceremonies like weddings or housewarming events. They were auspicious in nature. With its rustic presence and small proportions, this Northern Thai Khantok woven rattan tray from the mid 20th century will make for a charming addition to any home, perhaps used in a kitchen or dining room, or even in a living room as a magazine rack.
