Vintage Design
Set of a threeseater, loveseat and armchair, designed by Yngve Ekström for Pastoe. This FU05 set dates from the 1950s-1960s and still shows its original pink velvet upholstering, which is in fabulous condition. The wood used for the armrests and back is teak. The design is simple, yet refined, and the soft ‘dirty pink’, alsmost salmon-like colour gives it an original, one-of-a-kind look.
Yngve Ekström was an architect, woodworker, and furniture designer. Following the death of his father, at the young age of only 13, Ekström began working in the country’s oldest furniture factory, Hagafors Chair Factory, where he acquired the skills and expertise of a true artisan. Yngve Ekstrom’s furniture is characterized by the presence of wood and the right balance between aesthetics and functionality, which is why the chairs he created are renowned for their modern curves and genuine comfort.
