This very rare and possibly unique table could be the perfect finish to a small area that can do with a real style upgrade. Ever since we started selling antiques we have been looking for antique pieces of furniture made of special woodtypes and coromandel (especially when solid) is not only rare and beautiful to look at, it also is one of the most expensive woodtypes available. A cubic meter of this wood will set you back almost 100.000 USD. It is because there is not much of it, the small trees that give it, grow very slowly and in more recent years they logged to much of it. Therefor too finding this antique specimen really made our day. It is either British or Dutch Colonial, but given the stunningly turned barley twisted legs we lean towards British Colonial. Other great features are the lotus-like flower carvings on each side and the barley twisted cross at the base (also for extra stabilty). From the lines in the wood underneath the table top (see images 8 and 9) one can see that this antique work of beauty was all hand-sawn. You will not be able to find another one anywhere in the world and, besides one restoration underneath one of the corners, this rare and very handsome antique table is in very good condition. This table stands as strong and stable as the day it was made, it has a beautiful patina, the grain in this solid wood and the fine carvings are an absolute joy to behold and this small statement piece certainly is ready for a real antique lover to use and enjoy.
If you like this hand-crafted antique table as much as we do then you will love our price. Especially since perfect packing (in a custom made box) and worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 3 to 6 days are included in our very fair price.
