The figure portrayed dressed in military attire, wearing a cuirass molded with idealized musculature, a pleated skirt, known as a pterubes, and a cape called a paludamentum draped loosely around one shoulder and resting in the crook of his arm.
Although fragmentary, missing his head, both arms, and legs, this figure still commands a presence, standing upright with shoulders thrown back and chest out.
The marble degraded, with rough grains of calcite and quartz covering the surface, but still showing nice detail of the military uniform and the natural curves and musculature of the body. The marble with a warm, buttery sandy blond tone.
Mounted on a custom black metal stand.
Measures: Height of figure only 11.75″.
